The Town of Hillsboro Beach is beautifully situated on a narrow peninsula between the shimmering Intracoastal Waterway and the clear blue Atlantic Ocean. The Town’s Southern boundary is punctuated by the Hillsboro Inlet and the majestic and historic Hillsboro Lighthouse. The Town’s total length is about 3 miles and at its widest part is only about 900 feet.

Hillsboro Beach is a one-road town, stretched along a 3-mile section of State Road A1A at the southern end of Deerfield Beach Island. The road is known in the area as Millionaires’ Mile — a modest name, considering that it is three times that length, and that the people who own homes here are probably not mere millionaires. Single-family homes of great size and architectural significance hug the beaches on both sides of the barrier island, which is also studded with luxury mid-rise condominium buildings. There’s little retail or restaurant action locally, though it’s an easy trip to Pompano Beach for basics, or Boca Raton for extravagances.
