The Holidays Come to Boca Bayou

by | Jun 1, 2022 | Blog

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – and Hannukah – here at Boca Bayou! You can see lights shining in some of the Boca Bayou condominium windows and there are wreaths hanging on some of the doors.

There will always be those who say that it is hard to get into the holiday spirit when the sun is shining in a beautiful blue sky and the temperature is 80 degrees, but here at Boca Bayou we think those are the perfect conditions for a festive season of hope and goodwill – especially this year!

While family and friends up north are forced inside by the cold weather, we are fortunate enough to be able to get out and enjoy socially distanced, open-air holiday festivities.

Boat Parades

The annual Boca Raton Holiday Boat Parade had to be canceled this year due to the pandemic, as were the Boynton Beach/Delray Beach Boat Parade and the big Winterfest Boat Parade in Ft. Lauderdale.

  • If you have your heart set on seeing a boat parade this holiday season, you can still catch the 6th annual the Lake Osborne Holiday Boat Parade (Lantana/Lake Worth) on Saturday, December 19 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. In addition to the parade of boats around the lake, there will be a collection of new unwrapped toys at the Eastside Dock.

Holiday Light Displays

If there was ever a year when we needed a light brave enough to shine in the darkness, 2020 is definitely it!

  • Holiday Fantasy of Lights: This annual event at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek is perfect for a holiday season shadowed by a pandemic because it’s a drive-through event. You and those you share a bubble with can enjoy three miles of giant animated holiday displays and illuminated trees as you drive through the park. You can visit nightly from 6 to 10 pm through Jan. 2.
  • Mizner ParkModern Boca Mom, who is a big fan of Mizner Park in Boca Raton, tells us that while there wasn’t a big tree lighting ceremony this year, you can still, “Get into the holiday spirit at Mizner Park with decorations galore including a 47’ animated holiday tree located at the South end of the center near Yard House (not at the Mizner Park Amphitheater).”

Whether you are a longtime resident of Boca Bayou or are interested in checking out the condominiums for sale or rent in Boca Bayou, we would like to wish you the very best for the holidays!
