A recent study conducted by LawnStarter ranked the nation’s most glamorous cities. They focused only on the 50 biggest cities in the country, but when you look at the criteria, it is easy to see that Boca Raton definitely scores high marks when it comes to glamour!
What is the “glam” factor?
According to the folks at LawnStarter, there are certain attributes associated with America’s most glamorous cities. Their list includes things like the number of:
- Art Galleries
- Performing Arts Theaters
- Country Clubs
- Golf Courses
- Marinas
- Five-Star Hotels
- Cocktail Bars and Lounges
- Gourmet Specialty Food Stores
- Michelin-Starred Restaurants
- Spas
- Luxury Clothing and Cosmetics Shops
- Luxury Jewelry Stores
Boca Raton also scores bonus points due to its proximity to Miami, which the survey ranked at the top of the list.
“Sunny Miami dominates our ranking of the Most Glamorous Cities with more cocktail bars, lounges, and nightclubs per 100,000 residents than anywhere else in the U.S. But it’s in the beauty, fashion, and shopping category that Miami really shines. Miami took the top spot in a whopping four shopping-related metrics: luxury fashion, jewelry, watch, and perfume shops,” LawnStarter said in announcing the survey results. “There’s no better place in American to party hard and spend on bling than The Magic City.”
The Best of the Rest
Interested in how other cities came out in the rankings? Here are some other key findings, courtesy of LawnStarter:
- New York City, which ranked #2 overall, took the top spot in the Arts & Entertainment/Recreation/Accommodation category. Surprisingly, when it came to the Beauty/Fashion/Shopping category, the Big Apple came in at number 17.
- Another Florida city – Tampa – made the top 10 list, coming in at number 8.
- There are a lot of things that are bigger in Texas, but the glamor scene isn’t one of them. El Paso and Corpus Christi, Texas, were at the bottom of the list.
